House Under Construction
The New Roots Housing Initiative

Rebuilding places. Restoring futures. Helping Ourselves Inc is licensed to serve communities in both Iowa and Missouri, beginning our redevelopment work in Missouri through the Land Reutilization Authority (LRA). We want to return vacant lots and abandoned buildings to productive use — opening the door to bring life back into neighborhoods that have been forgotten for far too long. Through The New Roots Housing Initiative, we are stepping into underserved cities, identifying abandoned structures, and transforming them into safe, stable homes for families who need them most. Our work begins with raising funds to acquire our first multi‑unit home, which will allow us to support two families currently waiting on the Section 8 HUD housing list. And this is only the beginning. Our vision is rooted in compassion and long‑term community uplift: Acquire and restore multi‑family units Expand into larger multi‑unit homes Rehab abandoned buildings Revitalize neighborhoods one home, one family, one block at a time. Every building we reclaim becomes more than a project — it becomes a second chance. A safe place to grow. A foundation for stability. A future restored. The New Roots Housing Initiative is our commitment to turning abandoned spaces into anchors of hope. It’s our promise to uplift families who’ve waited too long for a home. It’s our belief that every community deserves renewal. Rebuilding places. Restoring futures.

Students Using Computers
The Empowered Vision Initiative

Your goals deserve a clear view. The Empowered Vision Initiative was created to make sure students, creators, and entrepreneurs have access to the tools that help them move forward. A monitor isn’t just a screen — it’s a window into learning, building, designing, and dreaming. When resources are limited, opportunities can feel out of reach. We’re here to change that. We’re offering a limited supply of HP 24‑inch and ViewSource 32‑inch monitors at a discounted rate, giving students and entrepreneurs an affordable way to upgrade their workspace and step confidently into thier new journey. Organizations in need, we donate monitors directly. We’re also launching a student monitor giveaway, ensuring that deserving learners receive the technology they need at absolutely no cost. Every purchase fuels Helping Ourselves Inc’s mission to create programs that uplift communities and empower individuals to build their own success. Every giveaway strengthens our promise to support those who need a boost the most. The Empowered Vision Initiative is more than a tech program. It’s a commitment to equity. A promise of support. A stepping stone toward brighter futures. Because when people can see their goals clearly, they can reach them.

Plastic Water Bottles
The Cool Relief Water Drive

“Cooling the heat. Caring for the community.” Summer heat doesn’t just make days uncomfortable — it puts lives at risk. In states where temperatures soar, many families, unhoused neighbors, and outdoor workers face dangerous conditions with little relief. Helping Ourselves Inc is stepping in with compassion, care, and cold water when it matters most. Through The Cool Relief Water Drive, we’re showing up in communities hit hardest by high temperatures, passing out free bottled water all summer long. Whether it’s a neighborhood in need or a busy street corner. We’re bringing hydration, kindness, and a reminder that no one should face the heat alone. This isn’t just about water. It’s about humanity. It’s about looking out for one another. It’s about being present when the sun is unforgiving and the need is real. Helping Ourselves Inc believes in being a stepping stone — and sometimes that step is as simple as offering a cold bottle of water with warmth, dignity, and genuine care. Cooling the heat. Caring for the community.

Project Reclaim

Your Equity. Your Right. When a home is lost, it can feel like everything is gone — stability, memories, the future you worked so hard to build. But for many families, there is still something left: the equity that belongs to them. Too often, that money goes unclaimed. Too often, people never hear that they still have a right to it. Project Reclaim exists to change that. We help former homeowners recover the surplus funds they’re owed — the wealth they created through years of sacrifice, care, and commitment. We walk with families through every step of the process, making sure they aren’t overlooked, ignored, or left behind again. This isn’t just paperwork. It’s dignity and it’s restoring what’s yours. Because your equity is more than a number. It’s your right. Your history. Your future.

GOLDEN YEARS HOME SAFETY INITIATIVE

Help the wise rise. Helping Ourselves Nonprofit and Ace Total Handyman & Renovations LLC have joined forces to support seniors 62+ with safe, comfortable, and dignified aging‑in‑place. Our elders spent their lives protecting us — now it’s our turn to ensure they age in peace. We serve older adults through grassroots outreach, volunteer support, and direct home safety interventions. The Golden Years Home Safety Initiative expands this work into a full aging‑in‑place program across St. Louis. We’re also actively seeking additional companies to partner with us. If your organization believes in protecting seniors and strengthening communities, we invite you to join the mission. Together, we’re making sure seniors stay safe, supported, and secure — because the Golden Years should truly feel golden.

The impact starts here — and it starts now.
